Cookie cakes being sold at Walmart have been recalled
Jimmy's Cookies LLC desserts are being recalled, says the FDA
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Cookies cakes sold in nearly half of the United States are being recalled because of allergy concerns, FDA says.
The company said Marketside Chocolate Candy Cookie Cakes shipped to certain Walmart locations may contain undeclared peanuts, which could detail a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if consumed.
"Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company's processes," the recall notice said in a statement. "People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product."
Jimmy's Cookies LLC's cookie cakes are packed in a 12" x 12" container with a clear lid and diamond label. The packaging also has #1133 on the top of the plastic — vital for a lookout. As we speak, fortunately no illnesses were reported at the time the recall was issued.
